Virginia Tech has named Stephanie Overton ’95 senior director of communications for the Workplace of the Senior Vice President and Main Business enterprise Officer, effective Sept. 12.
This new communications role bridges the functions and administration enterprises inside of Virginia Tech. Overton will provide as the communications guide on strategic college operations initiatives and give oversight that will boost details and messages shared with Virginia Tech and the broader neighborhood.
Presently, Chris Kiwus serves as interim senior vice president and main company officer and is dependable for the day-to-day management of services required to meet the university’s educating, research, and outreach mission.
Reporting to the two the interim senior vice president and the senior affiliate vice president for College Relations, Overton will align communications and promoting initiatives for all divisions in the operations and business enterprise organization with these of the overall university.

Overton’s expertise in communications spans about 25 many years in larger training and the private sector. She joins Virginia Tech from Radford College, the place she served as director of progression communications given that 2018 and oversaw internet/electronic communications, publications, and advertising and marketing for the Place of work of Advancement. She also led strategic communications and scheduling initiatives for the university’s complete campaign.
