RICHMOND, Ind. — Two Richmond girls and Wayne County Girls Scouts have been decided on for Athena Awards.

Tracie Robinson was selected for the Athena Leadership Award, Roxie Deer for the Athena Younger Skilled Award and the Girl Scouts of Wayne County Company Device for the new Athena Organizational Management Award, according to a news release.

The winners will receive hand-solid bronze and crystal sculptures throughout the 6 p.m. Aug. 18 awards evening meal at Forest Hills Nation Club. The sculptures symbolize the toughness, courage and wisdom of Athena recipients.

Local Athena awards have been founded in 2014 and are sponsored by Wayne Bank and Indiana University East, which are licensed host corporations for Athena International, a women’s management corporation, the release stated. Proceeds gain regional organizations focused to serving women’s management making.
