RICHMOND, Ind. — Two Richmond girls and Wayne County Girls Scouts have been decided on for Athena Awards.
Tracie Robinson was selected for the Athena Leadership Award, Roxie Deer for the Athena Younger Skilled Award and the Girl Scouts of Wayne County Company Device for the new Athena Organizational Management Award, according to a news release.
The winners will receive hand-solid bronze and crystal sculptures throughout the 6 p.m. Aug. 18 awards evening meal at Forest Hills Nation Club. The sculptures symbolize the toughness, courage and wisdom of Athena recipients.
Local Athena awards have been founded in 2014 and are sponsored by Wayne Bank and Indiana University East, which are licensed host corporations for Athena International, a women’s management corporation, the release stated. Proceeds gain regional organizations focused to serving women’s management making.
The Athena Leadership Award recognizes a lady who has realized specialist excellence, meaningfully served the local community and actively assists gals to realize their leadership prospective. Former recipients consist of Mary Jo Clark, Jackie Carberry, Kim Poinsett, Angie Dickman, Janis Buhl-Macy and Melissa Vance.
Robinson, a profits manager and associate broker at Better Homes and Gardens Initially Realty Group, is president of the Boys and Women Clubs of Wayne County board, vice president of the Cope Environmental Centre board, president of the Historic Richmond Depot District, co-director of the Depot Pageant of Trees and a member of the Midwest Music and Heritage Path board, the Wayne County Revolving Bank loan Fund board, a Wayne County Place Chamber of Commerce committee, the Economic Improvement Company marketing and advertising committee and Tri Kappa Delta Zeta philanthropic sorority.
Robinson has earlier served as Richmond Board of Realtors president, Wayne County Place Chamber of Commerce board president, Economic Growth Company board president, Every single Kid Can Browse and Third Grade Academy board member and as nonprofit coordinator for InConcert.
The Athena Younger Qualified Leadership Award acknowledges a lady 18 to 35 decades aged who demonstrates experienced excellence, creativeness and initiative presents important services to strengthen the community’s top quality of daily life and serves as a personal and specialist part product for youthful girls. Prior recipients include Jessie Pilewski and Ashley Sieb.
Deer is the director of membership and education for the Wayne County Region Chamber of Commerce.
