Roanoke College or university is happy to welcome Rita Farlow as its new vice president for marketing and advertising and communications. Farlow will join the College’s senior leadership group on March 1, 2024, and report to President Frank Shushok Jr.
Farlow, who is currently the affiliate vice president for marketing and strategic communications at St. Petersburg Faculty, was chosen for the situation soon after a comprehensive countrywide research. As chief of the marketing and communications crew at Roanoke, and the senior brand name ambassador for the College or university, Farlow will oversee a strategic advertising and communications plan and assistance a variety of important capabilities to enable advance Roanoke’s plans, including these similar to fundraising, enrollment administration and increasing the College’s standing.

Farlow retains a B.A. in English from Virginia Tech and an M.A. in mass communications from the College of South Florida, St. Petersburg. Next a 14-yr job as a journalist with the Tampa Bay Occasions, she entered the education and learning discipline as a communications coordinator for Pinellas County Faculties in Largo, Florida. In 2014, Farlow went to do the job for St. Petersburg University, a general public faculty that serves far more than 35,000 college students across 11 campuses in West Central Florida. At St. Petersburg, she has served in multiple roles with rising responsibility inside of marketing and advertising and strategic communications.
